Raw material moisture control: A core prerequisite for efficient operation of floating feed extruder machines. The moisture content of all mixed raw materials must be strictly controlled between 12% and 14%, which is the optimal operating range for fish feed extruders. Excessive moisture (above 14%) increases material stickiness, causing it to adhere to the screw and inner wall of the extruder barrel, leading to blockages. It also reduces material friction, resulting in insufficient extrusion and pellet settling. Insufficient moisture (below 12%) increases frictional wear between the material and the equipment, requiring additional steam to raise the temperature, increasing energy consumption and causing pellet scorching and nutrient loss. Moisture adjustment can be achieved through spray humidification or low-temperature drying. The mixed material should reach a state where it "clumps together when squeezed but crumbles easily when lightly touched," avoiding uneven moisture distribution that leads to some pellets being over-expanded while others remain unexpanded.

Raw material particle size control: The foundation for ensuring uniform extrusion. All raw materials must be pulverized, with a particle size controlled between 80-100 mesh. If the particle size of basic raw materials such as corn flour and soybean meal does not meet the standard (exceeding 80 mesh), it will result in insufficient residence time in the extrusion chamber of the floating feed making machine, incomplete starch gelatinization, uneven internal pores in the particles, and decreased buoyancy and water resistance. If the particle size is too fine (below 100 mesh), it will increase material flowability, causing excessively fast feeding into the extruder, load fluctuations, and dust generation, affecting the working environment and equipment lubrication. After pulverization, the materials must be screened by a vibrating screen to remove unqualified particles and ensure uniform particle size. Fine materials such as fishmeal and additives, in particular, must be pulverized separately before mixing with the basic raw materials to avoid excessive local particle size differences.

Moisture and particle size linkage optimization: If the raw material moisture content is too high and the particle size is too coarse, it must be dried to the standard range before secondary pulverization to refine the particle size, preventing direct feeding into the extruder and causing blockages. If the moisture content is too low and the particle size is too fine, appropriate spray humidification can be used, while simultaneously reducing the extruder feeding speed to avoid excessive load. During the production process, the moisture content and particle size of each batch of raw materials need to be tested, and the parameters of the sinking fish feed extruder machine are adjusted simultaneously to ensure that the raw material condition and equipment operating conditions are precisely matched, thus ensuring stable particle quality.
